Note: Some time ago, Apple stopped supporting the integrated PPTP VPN client on Mac (macOS Sierra 10.12.). This article only applies from macOS Sierra 10.12
and below.Step 1: Add new VPN configuration
Go to
System Preferences ->
Network. Click the
plus sign in the bottom corner of the window to add a new VPN configuration.
Then select Interface as
VPN. VPN Type is
PPTP and named for this connection.
Step 2: Configure the VPN connection
After completing step 1, you should see the newly created connection.
Click on new connection and fill in the following information:
Server Address: The IP address we send to you via email after you register for the service.
Account Name: Username information that we send to you via email after you register for the service.
After filling these 2 boxes, click
Authentication Settings to enter Password. We will also send this information to you via email after signing up for the service.
After filling in the information, configure a few more things as needed.
- Click on Advanced.
- Tick Send all traffic over VPN connection and click OK.
- Finally click Apply to save the VPN configuration.
Step 4: Connect to the VPN
- Leave the Show VPN status in menu bar box ticked and press Connect.
- You should be able to Connect/Disconnect to the server from the menu bar.
